The Erg Chigaga (or Chegaga) is one of the two great ergs of the Sahara in Morocco, the other being Erg Chebbi. This dune massif is about 50 km west of the rural municipality of M'Hamid El Ghizlane, which is about 98 km south of the city of Zagora. Approximately 40 km long and 15 km wide, this erg, with some dunes approaching a height of 60 m, is the largest and wildest in Morocco. Due to its relatively difficult access only accessible by 4x4, camel or foot, the erg Chigaga remains less frequented than erg Chebbi, which allows to make a real experience of the wilderness still wild.
